Our Goal
Our goal is to specialize in the production of high quality products for the printing industry at competitive prices with rapid response. It is to become the de facto flexographic service provider in South Africa.
Our History
In 2000, Jeff Cutler was retrenched from his position as Factory manager at a large packaging company, an event that culminated in the establishment of Stallion Repro.
“I had just turned 40 and it was a shock, but also an amazing opportunity, as I had always wanted to run my own business. I felt if I was ever going to do it, it had to be then,” Jeff reflects.
“Initially, I traded in all types of packaging, but was I increasingly asked for advice about graphics. As I had studied art at school, I soon found myself designing packaging, and it wasn’t long before I was running a fully-fledged repro plant!”
Today, he and his wife Sally own a flourishing business, enjoying strong relationships with their customers.

In the extremely competitive narrow web division, you need a repro house that can supply quality and speed in leaps and bounds. Our highly trained DTP team have the speed and passion to make sure your label is done quickly and efficiently but without any detriment to quality.
Every label job is processed using our Esko high resolution imaging which means sharper images with finer highlight dots and less dot gain. With the introduction of computer to plate (CTP) we can produce plates much faster and more cost effectively due to the fact no film is required. Combine this with our Esko HD Screening and you will have a label like no other.

Offset Coating
Our photopolymer coating plates are developed for inline-finishing in offset presses with Flexo coating units and for the offline-finishing in coating presses.

Offset Printing
Stallion Repro offers a full range of Water washout flexographic Metal back plates designed to meet the quality and performance of the offset printing market. Our technical expertise and capabilities have given us an edge in this market.
Digital Plates
Esko is one of the leading manufacturers of CDI devices and are pioneers in laser technology. Nearly 90% of all digital flexoplates worldwide are illustrated on a Cyrel Digital Imager (CDI) from Esko. That’s why we decided we must invest in the best and that is why we only use Esko equipment. With these CDI’s, we produce plates to the highest standards with minimum dot of 1%, providing our customers with consistent runs. The results can be achieved with a quality that, until now, was only possible in offset or gravure printing.
A decisive step in this development was the introduction of HD Flexo. This high-definition technology for flexographic printing sets new standards for the entire industry. Esko’s HD Flexo produces a noticeably higher print quality in both durability and reproducibility, thanks to softer transitions and brighter colours.
Computer-to-plate (CTP) encompasses all procedures in which printing plates are exposed from the computer. Today, this digital technology makes it possible to create all plate thicknesses and qualities. CTP offers highly reliable printing reproducibility, even when changing individual colours on an existing job.
Corrugated Board
Stallion Repro offers a number of flexographic plates designed to meet the quality and performance of the corrugated market. We supply corrugated plates either loose or mounted for the press. Along with our latest CDI and plate technology, we will help you get the best possible print with minimal fluting lines and dot gain.
Print Consultancy
Thanks to our close working relation with printers all over South Africa, our specialists have gathered vast experience beyond the borders of prepress. Our suppliers are keen to involve us in their development programs for new technologies, helping us to stay at the cutting edge. We gladly share our experience with the partners and customers.
